This evening between 4:30 and 5:15 we heard the Bay-breasted from the
intersection calling repeatedly and after a few anxious minutes we got
decent looks at it. No other western type warbler would sound anything like
this bird except a Blackpoll perhaps. Ran into MaryFrancis Mathis and Marv
Breece. The bird will probably stick around as long as we have this weather
pattern which should be good for Thurs and Friday. Looks like it's suppose
to change on Sat. If you want to see it try to make it sooner than
later--an easy find thanks to Russ Koppendrayer, the founder of such a super
bird!

There wer no logging trucks and very few vehicles when we were there. The
bird was calling 100 feet down FR 1909, but could be heard quite some
distance. Main thing have someone in the group that can hear the high
frequency notes. If you can't hear the high stuff, you could walk right by
it.
