There were at least three folks who happened coincidentally to arrive at the dirt piles/interpretive trail parking area at Marymoor Park around lunchtime today - all looking for the Ash-Throated Flycatcher that Michael Hobbs' group found on Wednesday morning. The first two of us struck out, and I left before the third fellow came back. However, those of you wishing to get an EASTERN KINGBIRD for King County should take a trip there. The bird has really taken a shine to a 4x4 post in the east meadow south of the dirt piles, and the post is easily visible from a number of vantage points. It sits on the post scanning the meadow and hawking for bees and bugs, expending little energy for a handsome return in calories. Judging from what I saw today and others have reported, it's probably going to hang around there for a while. For what it's worth, the east meadow must be right up there in the standings for the highest density of Savannah Sparrows in the world, judging by the!

of them flitting about today...!
