Hi Tweets:

On Thursday, June 8, East Lake Washington Audubon led a trip to Eastern
Washington with 86 species seen/heard. The Tinkham Bridge stop found the American
Dipper. Along the Snoqualmie Pass ski-school trail we had Cassin's and
Warbling Vireo, Olive-sided and Willow Flycatcher, Fox and Lincoln's Sparrow, Hermit
and Swainson's Thrush, Townsend's, Yellow, Wilson's and Yellow-rumped
Warbler, among others. A right turn at I-90, Exit 93, Elk Heights, led us to a flock
of at least a dozen Red Crossbill and Western Bluebird. The next hour or so
was spent birding Taneum Creek for veery, oriole, grosbeak, warbler and
Calliope Hummingbird. Red-naped and Red-breasted Sapsucker was also seen. We had
many successes but dipped on the Gray Catbird, perhaps because of the
persistent gusty wind. The afternoon was spent birding Umtanum Creek recreation area.
Lazuli Buntings were numerous along with Yellow-breasted Chat, Prairie
Falcon, chukar, House and Rock Wren and Western Tanager. A Lewis's Woodpecker was
seen during the scouting trip but not on the field trip. Among the day's
highlights were the 12-14 Long-billed Curlews feeding in a field near Robinson
Canyon.
