Subject: [Tweeters] nesting Pacific Slope flycatcher.

Hi tweeters,
For the second year in a row, we have a PS flycatcher pair nesting above
our back door. We have those security doors and this apparently makes a
perfect ledge for the nest. Also for the second year there are what
appears to be two nests, one on each side of the door. One was not
completed this year although it was last year. Does anyone know if this
is part of the mating ritual to build two nests or was it just that the
karma was better on one side of the door?
Its been great fun watching the female build the nest. She has been on
the nest for about a week now so expect hungry mouths to be heard by
next weekend. The male is only occasionally present nearby.
Thanks
