A report from Ocean Park, Wa. The last six weeks have brought many
changes from last year in our beach bird observation.
Many Caspian with young, they had not been a common visitor till
July in last few yards. The Brown Pelican population has increased
from a few, usually trolling off shore, to groupings in the hundreds,
The two species intermingle with several different gulls.
We were able to get good pictures, imagine weather, and
population pressures may be driving this new movement. Of course
dinner is the biggest draw, so the Columbia Plume maybe warming
waters south of us.
This sighting is my husband;s, I have completely lost sight
now, bur burred well by ear, thank goodness!
