Dear Tweeters,

Over the last week and a half or so, I have seen one
to two Common Nighthawks almost every evening in
Skagit County. The birds are usually foraging in the
sky above the fields just east of Lyman. These fields
are near the bison place, just west of Hamilton
Cemetery Road where it crosses between SR 20 and
Lyman-Hamilton Highway. The birds are usually there
right around dusk. I have heard a few "peeent" calls,
but no booming yet. I hope they stick around.

Meanwhile, Wilson's Snipe continue to winnow once in a
while in the fields just east of there, mostly at dusk
and after nightfall.
