June 13, 2006. The following interesting birds have been well reported in
Spokane County during the past week.

There were 3 new county year birds being: BREWER'S SPARROW, BAND-TAILED
PIGEON and BOBOLINK bringing the group year list to 223. Check out the
progress at http://www.spokaneaudubon.org/

The first reported BREWER'S SPARROW was on private property south of Spokane
on Silver Hill June 3. A more accessible one is NW of Medical Lake, 100
yards north of the intersection of Hallett & Stangland Roads.

The first BAND-TAILED PIGEON has been in Mead for the past week, but wasn't
seen yesterday.

The first BOBOLINK was barely in the county NW of Elk June 12.

A WESTERN GREBE was on the south end of West Medical Lake June 10 & 11. The
CLARK'S GREBE remains on the north end of West Medical Lake June 10.

2 CASPIAN TERNS were at Williams Lake June 4. Another 2 were at Fishtrap
Lake June 9.

An Adult GOLDEN EAGLE was at Fishtrap Lake June 9.

Otherwise we are enjoying our nesting birds & looking for those vagrants.
