LEAST FLYCATCHERS are still being seen in several locations in both states.
WASHINGTON: On 11 Jun Mike Haldeman relocated the LEAST FLYCATCHER that
Craig Corder had found almost 3 weeks ago just inside the Turnbull NWR
entrance in Spokane Co WA. The bird was calling from the first large aspen
grove on the right. Turnbull is just south of Cheney, Spokane Co WA. Take
the Cheney-Plaza Road south about 4 miles from Cheney to the refuge. WA
DeLorme 72, A-4. Another LEFL was calling 9 Jun in Stevens Co WA near the
entrance to Little Pend Oreille NWR, in an aspen grove just south of the jct
of Bear Creek and Narcisse Creek roads, according to Gina Sheridan and Cindy
McCormack.

IDAHO LEAST FLYCATCHERS: The Latah Co ID bird, first spotted on 25 May by
Chris Caudill, Ashely Martens, and Will Boyd, was still being seen as of 11
Jun at Phillip's Farm County Park just north of Moscow, Latah Co ID, along
with a second bird, according to Terry and Christine Gray. The birds are in
the westernmost corner in a mixed stand of aspen and ponderosa pine. Head
north from Moscow, up the grade over Moscow Mountain, and then a left turn
into the park.

A BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was singing 3 Jun at the entrance to the Yakima
Training Center south of Wanapum Dam along Huntzinger Road, Kittitas Co WA
according to Scott Downes. It was still there on 9 Jun according to Paul
Cozens and Kevin Aanerud.

The BLACK-THROATED SPARROW first seen 28 May by Terry Gray and others at
Steptoe Butte State Park in Whitman Co WA was still present as of 11 Jun,
although the bird has apparently moved from the rock quarry near the
microwave building about a quarter of the way up the butte to the summit,
according to Mike Haldeman. ID DeLorme 73, D-6.

On 12 Jun Michael Woodruff and Gina Sheridan birded the Spokane Co / Pend
Oreille Co line in the vicinity of Allen, Bruce, and Dunn roads. Several
BOBOLINKS were present along Allen Road in Pend Oreille Co, and one managed
to flit into Spokane Co as well. A NORTHERN MOCKING BIRD was seen near the
"Timberline Murals" billboard west of the junction of Dunn and Allen roads.
WA DeLorme 105, D-6.

On 9 Jun Paul Cozens and Kevin Aanerud found a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD in Grant
Co WA. The bird was along Lower Crab Creek Road, about 3 miles beyond the
end of the pavement, heading east from Beverly.

Another NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was spotted in Grant Co 11 Jun by Randy Hill at
the former Hunter Hill Winery just west of Columbia NWR, along McManamon
Road south of Mardon Resort on Potholes Reservoir, about a 0.5 mile east of
Road H SE. Bob Flores reports seeing this bird again on 14 Jun.

Ron Dexter confirmed the sighting of a BAND-TAILED PIGEON in Mead, Spokane
Co WA on 11 Jun. This bird was visiting the home of Irene Jameson at 4007
East Peone Road. If you go for the bird, park in the road and scan from your
car because it is very spooky. The home is located one block east of Market
and you must approach from that side because of road construction. If you
don't see the bird in the treetops or on the ground around the tree and
trash bin, go ahead and knock on the front door to see if the Jameson's have
any recent sightings. The bird seems to forage one or two blocks north of
their home. It normally perches high in tree tops.

On 16 Jun Mike Denny reports seeing a photo of a male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK
using a feeder in Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co WA. Unfortunately, that's all
the details we have at the moment... hopefully Mike can ascertain more.

Good birding.
