I took the better part of today and did a trip from my house (Snoqualmie), over the pass and a loop through Eastern WA. I had the best day yet in terms of total species - 63 with 5 added to my life list. (I'm still new at this and am in awe of the 100-in-a-day folks!) The route and species found, skipping the really common ones, follow.

I took the Yakima Canyon road (Hwy 10) from Cle Elum and then the Thorp Highway to Ellensburg. Some of the species on this stretch included the OSPREY on the nest just before the Cle Elum exit, numerous BLACK BILLED MAGPIES, a WESTERN MEADOWLARK, and CALIFORNIA QUAIL along the Thorp Highway and near the old Thorp Mill. From Ellensburg, I took the old Vantage Highway, and picked up a SAGE THRASHER
