After about two weeks' absence, I was back at Marymoor Park this morning. It seemed odd, after seeing about a half dozen Ash-throated Flycatchers every morning during my walk through pinyon-juniper woodland just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico, that last week's ATFL was nowhere in evidence at Marymoor. Somehow I halfway thought that my familiarity with the species in NM might carry over, back here!
Nor was the Eastern Kingbird around, and I neither saw nor heard the Baltimore Oriole. For that matter, there were no Bullock's around either. I also missed the reported Red-eyed Vireos, and if the Lazuli Buntings were around they were being quiet.
On the plus side... there were at least 8 Bald Eagles around Lake Sammamish, which now has innumerable water-lily buds, and there was 1 Caspian Tern, and I also saw a Green Heron. Lots of young American Robins around, also.
