Denny Grandstrand emailed me these directions Sunday for the two birds. I am forwarding this one and another, since several have emailed me asking directions

Here are directions for the warbler and sparrow (from Gene Hunn):

For the Bay-breasted consult your DeLorme, page 32, somewhere near the
corner of T10N, T11N, R1E, and R2E, at a place marked "19 Mile Camp." From
Castle Rock east on Highway 504 it is just past mile marker 18, a left turn
onto Forest Service Road 1900/1901, then 2.4 miles to the junction with FSR
1909. (If you take Hwy 505 from I-5 through Toledo, you will meet Hwy 504
less than two miles before FR 1901 and save over half an hour. Go back to
I-5 the same way. I did it last weekend when Kerry Turley and I went over
from Yakima.)

The Clay-colored Sparrow is quite easy. Take Exit 88A off I-5 and go
toward Tenino. Turn left on Melville St., which is about two miles west of
Tenino. The street sign is hard to see as you are driving east. It is
blocked by a large stand of fir trees. If you get to the large ranch with
hundreds of alpacas, you have gone too far. Drive north on Melville about
a block or so. You can park on the west side of the street. There is a
gravel road that goes east from Melville. The sparrow is usually found
near the corner.

Good luck,

Denny
