Subject: [Tweeters] Western Wood-Pewee vs. Willow Flycatcher, Olympia

Thanks to the eight folks who have provided tentative species ID based
on the photo I placed on-line yesterday of a flycatcher in Olympia
www.cascadiaresearch.org/robin/birdphotos.htm - I put a second (slightly
different) image on yesterday as well. Of the eight responses, four say
Western Wood-Pewee and four say Willow Flycatcher. One point I did not
mention was behavior - the bird was flying out and apparently gleaning
insects on the end of long grass nearby. Not sure if it is possible to
be definitive based on the photos, but any other comments on why it is
one or the other species would be appreciated.

Also, I've put a photo of an accipiter on the page as well, would
appreciate help in deciding between a Cooper's Hawk and a Sharp-shinned
Hawk (apologies for the placement of the photos, I am still learning
HTML).

Thanks again,

Robin
