Quick note... The two Least Flycatchers continue at Hardy Canyon on Wenas
Rd. I heard one giving only single calls at long intervals on the afternoon
of Monday, June 19. I returned Wednesday afternoon to confirm. This time a
soft owl imitation elicited the rapid-succession call from two individuals.
The first was located about even with the gray gate post. The second was
further up the grade where it turns left, and was even less vocal (silent on
Monday). Both are quite skittish and remained out of sight within the
groves' inner parts. I learned of their presence from a June 5 post from
Kenneth Brown. More highlights from south-central WA later...
