Tweets,
Apparently Charlie Wright and I missed the others who have posted on the
positive results of this morning's search. We arrived about 10:30 and
quickly heard the call note of the oriole. Within a couple minutes we
located the bird perched in the pines. We headed back up to the car to get
the digiscoping equip in hopes of a photo. Upon returning it took a few
minutes to have the bird call again and this time kept popping up in the
birches at the end of the circle. Contrary to other reports, we got quite
good views, Charlie even got a good look in his scope, though asking the
bird to stick around long enough for a photo was too much to ask. If this
morning was an indication for weekend activities I'd recommend walking
around the end of the cul-de-sac and looking in the pines, decidious trees
to the north. In total we probably got 10 or so 10-15 second looks in the
half an hour we were there. Listening for the call note seemed a good way to
locate the bird this morning, may help if it continues to call.

A very nice bird on a sunny Seattle morning.
