After reading the post by Alan and Wendy Roedell I decided it was time to get down to see the BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, before it was to late. My first stop was at the Lower Weir Prairie (see Opperman - page 207) where I had calling NORTHERN BOBWHITE. The location was near the same spot where I had seen one last year; from the site described by Opperman continue north .5 mile on Rainier Road to the next prairie and turn right.

I then took off for Tenino to find the CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, which turned out to be very easy as the bird was up and singing when I arrived at the spot. Finally, I arrived at the location for the BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, looked around for a little and was joined by a total of six other people; all of us had great looks at this bird.

Cheers and Good Birding;
