Subject: [Tweeters] Deceptive eagle at Green Lake

Yesterday I could have sworn I saw a turkey vulture being pursued by a crow,
as it zipped across the road ahead of me; I caught only a glimpse, but it
was the right size and very much dihedral. (Although the crow pursuit
puzzled me; I've never seen a crow mobbing a vulture.)

This morning my wife and son spotted the same bird, still very dihedral, but
got a good look at the underparts and are convinced it's a juvenile bald
eagle, which would explain the crow part. I wonder why it has that strange
flight posture?

A few years back I DID see several turkey vultures at the north end of Green
Lake in a small kettle, but I think they were migrating and just happened to
pass through. Would a TV sighting in Seattle proper be at all unusual?
