Today I decided to find a bird that I had previously missed in the Vantage area. I tried two spots where the BLACK-THROATED SPARROW had recently been seen, and the second one paid off. This spot is the one that is exactly .8 miles north of the entrance to Wanapum State Park on Huntzinger Road. The bird was perched up and singing on the east side of the road, with several LARK SPARROWS nearby.

I then made a quick stop at the Ginkgo State Park Interpretive Center where things were pretty quiet, but did have a COMMON NIGHTHAWK roosting in one of the trees.

I then stopped by the Elk Heights Burn (as has been previously reported by Gene Hunn and Marve Breece) and found the BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS.

I then made one last stop, at the exit to Stampede Pass, and did a little birding along the road (about .5 mile) up to Crystal Springs Campground. I noticed a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER nesting site, also had MACGILLIVRAY'S, YELLOW, and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS in the area.

Cheers and Good Birding;
