Phil,

I have found before any foreign trip, to GOOGLE, "Bird Trip Reports, xxxxxxxxxx" (where xxxxxxxxxxx = the country you are visiting). If that doesn't bury you in info, I don't know what will. For instance, for Madagascar you will end up with Bird Tour group trip reports, independent travel trip reports, etc, etc, and info on the islands north of Madagascar which should be visited if you are going that far!!

With the habitat changes that occur worldwide, current info is really critical and valuable. Many of the trip reports also provide names of dependable guides for specific areas and species, plus room and board recommendations and fair prices for taxis, pedicabs, etc.
