I'm guessing its a escaped domestic or Mallard hybrid

This morning Helen Gilbert and I saw an unusual duck dabbling
with the Mallards on the big pond. It has the profile of a Mallard but
its coloration is all black except for a brilliant white chest. We didn't
see its like in our book so assume it is a Mallard variant.

BTW, a male Cinnamon teal is there, too.
