Hello, tweets.

Netta Smith and I spent a nice morning at Nisqually Refuge stalking
innocent birds to digiscope them. Nothing unexpected to report other
than a WHIMBREL that flew from salt water almost all the way to I-5,
then turned and appeared to be flying back out McAllister Creek. It
didn't call, but I got recognizable (poor) photos of it in flight
with the scope. I presume this is a wintering bird, as it's way
before its normal period of spring migration.

We got great photos of an American Bittern and a Red-breasted
Sapsucker, among other species. We also saw more people with long
lenses than I had ever seen there before, and this on a weekday!
