Hi Tweets,

as some of you might know, I have been working on
"Birds in the News" for one calendar year, as of
today. I began announcing when it was published to
this list approximately seven months ago, so all of
you could enjoy it. Later, I told you that "Birds in
the News" had been nominated for a 2005 Koufax Award
for "Best Series Published on a Blog". Finally, As of
today, I learned that the Koufax Awards polls are open
for votes, and of course, I'd really appreciate your
vote for "Birds in the News" (which is certainly one
of the longest running weekly series on the web) and
also for the other catergory nominations for my blog,
Living the Scientific Life (for seven nomination in
total).

Do I get fame or riches or (dare I even mention it) a
job (!!) if I win? No. I receive nothing. Nothing
except a cute little badge that I will display on my
blog in perpetuity and the warm satisfaction of
knowing that the public actually appreciates what I do
with my humble little blog. This first round of voting
will determine 6-10 semi-finalists for each category
and will take perhaps 20-30 minutes out of your life
to read all the linked material and to cast your vote.
