Hi Tweets,

A beautiful day in the Columbia Basin. Barb and I went out for the morning
and enjoyed both the birds and the weather.
A large group of Tundra Swans at Birder's Corner started our day nicely as
they posed and voiced their displeasure at our presence. Northern Pintail,
Mallard, American Wigeon, Lesser Scaup, Northern Shoveler, Redhead, and
Common Goldeneye cruised about the ponds as well.
A Townsend's Solitaire and large numbers of American Robins, Dark-eyed
Juncos, and Yellow-rumped Warblers worked an apple orchard along Frenchman
Hills Road. A single Slate-colored Junco and several Myrtle's race
yellow-rumps were noted. Also seen was a very nice light-morph HARLAN'S HAWK
soaring northward on a thermal.
Road 'C' SW was busy with mostly common birds, but a nice treat was a
single male EURASIAN WIGEON where Frenchman Wasteway flows under the road.
Also of note at this location were several BROWN CREEPER working the row of
Poplar Trees.
A single Red-breasted Nuthatch at Potholes State Park was one of only very
few this winter and was nice to see. At least three Downy Woodpeckers made
the stop enjoyable and we ended the day with 53 species on a beautiful
Saturday morning.

Cheers
