We have no witnesses but the evidence of a very BLOODY window last spring
would seem to indicate that a male robin was more than just a little
anxious to defend his territory against his own reflection.
Early every morning the bird perched on a Maple limb outside my sisters
window. He threw himself so forcefully against the glass that he left the
window literally covered with blood. Jealousy is a deadly emotion.
Although she never found a body my sister says there was so much blood it
had to have bled to death.
