Hello, Tweets,
The Olympic BirdFest, centered around Sequim and Port Angeles, is
happening Friday, Mar 31, to Sunday, Apr 2. Lots of information and
registration for the festival can be found at the festival's website,
www. olympicbirdfest.org.
The festival includes field trips led by local experts to several great
birding spots on the north Olympic coast (Sequim Bay, Dungeness Bay,
Port Angeles Harbor, Elwha River mouth), plus live raptors from the
Northwest Raptor Center, salmon banquet and silent auction at the
Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, owl prowl in the Owlympics, and, on Sunday,
a boat trip around Protection Island from Port Townsend and
kayaking/birding in Sequim Bay.
All income from the festival goes to support the Dungeness River
Audubon Center, a very worthwhile cause!! Even if you can't attend the
festival, come by the River Center this spring to see the new displays
of birds of western Washington, or attend a birdwalk in the riparian
forest by the Dungeness River every Wed. morning at 8:30 a.m.
Hope to see you!
