Congratulations on a great bird! It is a species that seemed to would have shown up sooner or later in time since Vance Creek Co. Park does attract small numbers of scaup. Hopefully you'll get some good pictures and the bird will stay around for others to see it. It would be a nice bird to see even though we have seen that species at the Hoquiam STP on a few past occasions.

Hi, I just raced home from a quick scan of the main pond at Vance Creek County Park here in Elma. There is a TUFTED DUCK amidst a small group of Greater and Lesser Scaup. The back of the duck is black and the tuft is very apparent. I am going back to the park to hopefully get a decent picture.
