The weather was so nice this afternoon that I just had to get out and do some birding, so I stopped by Discovery Park for a couple of hours. It felt great just to leisurely stroll through the park while birding. A few of the birds encountered were:
Rhinoceros Auklet - 1 bird seen along the North Beach
Barred Owl - 2 birds calling near the Ravine along the Loop trail
Brant - 9 seen along the South Beach shoreline
Black Scoter - 4 seen along the South Beach
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 near the Visitor Center
Band-tailed Pigeon - 3 near the Visitor Center
Pileated Woodpecker - 1 heard a little south of the Visitor Center
Cheers & Good Birding
