I just check in here when we visit the grandkids in
Seattle but we have birded extensively in Mexico (7
times) , Panama (twice), Costa Rica, Belize and
Guatemala.

We loved them all, but Panama is probably the best
combination of birding, comfort and cost. In Panama
we saw 400 species in 12 days. Our other favorite was
Tikal in Guatemala. The birds are so tame that a
Tinamou pecked my feet! Check the latest security
bulletins re Tikal and stay right in the park.

In Mexico, the best trip was in the Yucatan: Merida to
Palenque and back.
