Tweets,
I'm looking for a bit of help - stopped by the Big Ditch on Sunday to see what could be see. As my girlfriend and I were leaving we spotted a Northern Harrier in the field just to the east of the parking lot diligently tearing apart a rather large animal/bird of some sort. It was large enough that the bird could stand on top of it while it tore into it with it's beak. Based on the occasional bone that would pop into our view we surmised it was a bird, but we never got a view of anything large enough to give it a truly positive ID. Any guesses? I've always associated Harriers with eating small creatures - do they occasionally go after larger birds? Thanks for the help!
