Subject: [Tweeters] Northern Shrike in Auburn

On Sunday I saw a Northern Shrike in what I thought was an unusual
location, near the Fred Meyer in Auburn at the corner of 10th St NE and
A St NE. There is a scrubby field and a wetlands area north and west of
Fred Meyer, and the bird was perched on a chain link fence at the edge
of the field. It's in a fairly busy commercial area, though. I did not
hear it call, but it did manage to defecate while I was watching it.

>Early Saturday (3/11) I had a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE off the n.e. corner of
the
Everett STP, perched first atop a Doug-Fir and then dropping down to
lower
perches over the marshy area.
