I've said it before, and I'll say it again: pathogens mutate.

Poultry and waterfowl were once considered the only hosts of Mycoplasma
gallisepticum until it mutated and began infecting wild songbirds. So
unless you have a plan to keep all waterfowl migrating between here and East
Asia separate from all of our feeder-going birds, I'd give this a little
more thought.
