I'm convinced that those well respected birders really encountered the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Arkansas a couple of years ago (whenever it was). But the IBWO has a tendancy to oportunistically (spelling?) search far and wide for suitable foraging sites, according to the literature and occasional former reports. And who is around down there in the deep south to identify it when one gooes whooshing past?
