Hello all,
Birded the western end of the county today and observed the following
species of interest:
*Caspian Tern - 1 bird at the delta
Eurasian Wigeon - 2 males on the delta
*Peregrine Falcon - 1 adult over the delta
Dunlin - 99 birds on the delta
Glaucous Gull - 1 2nd year bird on the poop piles, 1 2nd year bird over the
river at Penninsula HMU, and another flying toward Crescent Island.
*Western Gull - 1 adult bird on Foundation Island (west of Penninsula
Habitat Man. Unit in the Columbia River)
Mew Gull - 1 adult at Casey Pond, 1 adult on the poop piles
Herring Gulls - 20+ on Foundation Island
Double-crested Cormorant - 300+ nesting on Foundation Island
*Red-necked Grebe - 1 bird off Foundation Island
Greater White-fronted Geese - 300+ at MP 300 ponds along Hwy 12
Bald Eagles - 24 birds total
American Wigeon - 2000+ on the delta
Northern Pintail - 1200+ on the delta

* County year birds - bringing total to 134
