Subject: [Tweeters] towsends warbler

I won't be the first or most expert to tell you T. w. are around all
winter. The first time I saw some feeding at treetop in deep winter
(whatever that is in Seattle) I was blown away. This Feb., I saw
several in the Backyard Bird Count. There's that dinky little "Birds
in Seattle" book that, I'm quite sure, verifies their winter
presence. I've never heard them sing in the winter (like the Bewick's
does, etc.)

25 degrees/snowing here. Yet the house finches awaken me every
morning, singing endlessly. I heard N. flicker drumming and calling,
T's solitaire, juncos and robins singing the other morning when the
sun was out. They've been subdued today--except for the finch
serenade.
