Hello Tweets,

A gorgeous day for a field trip around the Lake Hills Greenbelt in Bellevue.
On a three-hour walk around the greenbelt, our highlights were two Hutton's
Vireos, collecting nesting material together. We also had great views of a
Chestnut-backed Chickadee excavating a nesting hole; this bird has chosen an
old woodpecker hole in a snag and flew in and out, over and over, dumping
sawdust out of his/her(?) bill. We never did see this chickadee's partner;
I returned to the spot a couple of hours later and watched for half an hour
but only saw one chickadee. Another highlight for today was a singing Fox
Sparrow. Has spring sprung?
