American Tree Sparrow: That handsome little bird that hangs around tall
grass and shrubs and generally avoids trees. (Go figure.) Known for its
amazing tolerance of cold.

American White Pelican: One of those birds that look spectacular in flight,
but close-up, make one wonder about the strange directions of natural
selection.
