Hi,
Two things:
First, while driving the Samish Island Rd. between the East and West 90, I
saw a buteo with a fairly pale head and a black patch on his tail perched in
a tree not far from the road. I think it was a Rough-Legged Hawk. I'm
wondering if any other Tweets saw this hawk yesterday (it was a gorgeous
day, so I know you were there!) and can either confirm this ID or set me
straight.

Second, I have a question for the Man from Vashon (forgive me for not
remembering your name!) who was birding at the Skagit Game Range yesterday
(Sunday) afternoon:

Were you able to ID the accipiter we saw sitting (longingly) on the pheasant
cages near the parking lot? If so, could you e-mail me (offline if you like)
and let me know the bird's ID, or let me know the ID when you do figure it
out?

American Tree Sparrow: That handsome little bird that hangs around tall

amazing tolerance of cold.

American White Pelican: One of those birds that look spectacular in flight,
but close-up, make one wonder about the strange directions of natural
selection.
