Since I have to be up quite early tomorrow morning, I
wanted to at least make a quick post on some of my
recent sightings. Several of these birds were
originally found by the Corders, and I chased them
down.

Spokane Co. - Sunday, 3/19/06

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE - Meadow Lake (southwest
of the community of Four Lakes)

EURASIAN WIGEON - Lance Hills Lake (Lance Hill Road,
1/2 mile south of Harmony Road.

WILSON'S SNIPE - County Line Lake on Drumheller Road

West Plains (Ladd & McFarlane)/Spokane Co. - Monday,
3/20/06

SAVANNAH SPARROW - 2

Waukon Lake, Lincoln Co. (south of Waukon at the
northwest corner of Cloverdale & Waukon Rds. - Monday,
3/20/06

CACKLING GOOSE - 8 (including one classic looking
minima)
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE
LESSER SCAUP
CANVASBACK
GADWALL

Weird sighting of the day: a house cat that was
perched on the top of a 25-tall power pole along a
desolate stretch of Waukon Road. Perhaps, a coyote
chased this cat up the pole?

farther west on Charles Road:

Although we dipped on Pygmy Owl and White-headed
Woodpecker, we were very pleased with the results. My
personal Spokane County year list now stands at 103.
