Greetings all,

A great big thank you to Guy McWethy for spotting and reporting the Tufted Duck at the Weyerhauser (sp?) headquarters pond in Federal Way.

John English and I arrived around 2:30 this afternoon, thinking we were a bit early, but also thinking "how tough can this be, picking out a black backed TUDU from a bunch of gray backed Scaups" WRONG!! The pond was full of black backed Ring-Necked Ducks, so we started sorting.... In 10 minutes, Eagle Eye English was on the bird. It was then that we noticed the complete lack of pale gray on the flanks of the TUDU. After that it was easy to refind among all of the pale gray sided Ringed Necks.
