Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was seen April 26 at Malheur NWR. Another was seen April
28 at Baskett Slough NWR. A MANX SHEARWATER was off Boiler Bay May 2. The
TUFTED DUCK is still being seen at Fern Ridge Reservoir and the BLUE JAY
continues in Brookings. EURASIAN COLLARED DOVES were reported during the

Very heavy migrations were reported during the week, especially along the

of RED KNOTS, WHIMBREL, and SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS.

On May 3 a SWAINSON?S HAWK was south of Bandon. BLACK-NECKED STILTS are now
at Fern Ridge Reservoir and at the Farmer Road Marsh near Baskett Slough
NWR. One was on Sauvie Island April 28. On April 27 a SANDHILL CRANE was in
the Prairie Section of Finley NWR. The TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD colony at Fords
Pond in Sutherlin is active again this summer.

On April 28 a HUTTON?S VIREO was reported from the Deschutes River State
Park at the mouth of the river. An early SWAINSON?S THRUSH was reported May
1 at Sawyer State Park near Bend. A SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was at Hatfield
Lake near Bend May 3. Up to 200 GREATER SCAUP were reported from Wickiup

That?s it for this week.
