I did the same thing--wrote to Windermere thanking them. I wrote to
everyone I could think of to complain about the prospective fireworks so it
seems right to thanks those responsible for cancelling the event.

Thanks from me to every one who did something to bring about this very happy
result.

Hello, just a note to thank everyone involved with bringing about the
cancellation of the fireworks. As a Wallingford resident I can certainly
relate to the worries that fireworks bring for urban wildlife as well as
for companion animals. I have written an email to the contact listed on
the Windermere press release [Joeg at windermere.com], thanking Windermere
for their decision; and advising them that Windermere has just gone to the
top of my realtor list for the future sale of my home.
