Hello All,
This last week Blue Mountain Audubon along with many others appealed a very
poorly placed wind project in southern Klickitat Co.. This project was
appealed due to lack of information on cumulative impacts to Washington
States protected bird species. No information was provided in the SEPA
document concerning nocturnal migrants and only 56-58 bird species out of
over 280 species in the county were surveyed. WDF&W strongly opposed this
projects placement, but chose not to appeal it outright. This is the first
wind project that has had an appeal filed against it in Washington State.
Just a reminder that even forms of "green" energy come with a huge price
tags in habitat lost and unknown numbers bird and bat species killed. So
conserve energy and shut off those lights when you are not in the room!!
