Last year here in Yakima we had a large die off of Evening Grosbeaks (< 50
birds I believe) as they visited some feeders in the West Valley area.
Birds were taken to be autopsied by no conclusive cause was ever reported.
It made the news but no definitive cause was determined.

Grosbeaks are starting to move through again here, but no reports of die
offs as of this year.
