The two heron nests high in a cottonwood over Thornton Creek, near the
intersection of Sandpoint Way NE and NE 95th are still occupied. Recently,
however, they have been visited at least twice by an eagle who sits for
about 20 minutes above one of the nests as the male heron croaks and
squawks. Crows, always eager to join a contretemps, divebomb the complacent
eagle until finally he flaps off.
