I just finished our very own Lyanda Lynn Haupt's book, "Pilgrim on the Great Bird Continent", excellent! As an ornithologist, ethnologist, naturalist, NW resident, and parent she outlines her reflections on Darwin's growth as a naturalist. She also credits Drs. Dennis Paulson and Sievert Rohwer. A must read for the thinking birder.
