We had a Black Headed Grosbeak in our yard Saturday morning, a male. Did
not hear the song however. I was just saying to my husband that they must
be getting near and there it was!

Also, we are getting more and more house finches back and goldfinches - also
a purple finch couple.

A few days ago a pileated woodpecker right in our small yard was a marvelous
and startling sight!
