Hello All,
This weekend in the face of an advancing cold front MerryLynn and I decided
to hit several of eastern Washington's migrant traps to see what this windy
,wet storm might drop into the Russian olives. So on 6 May we started out
and here are the highlights........

Iowa Beef Ponds, WW Co.

Black-necked Stilts......18 birds
Dunlin...........................14 birds in Alt. plumage. Beautiful!
Long-billed Dowitchers..5 birds-YB
Western Sandpiper...........7 birds

Charbonneau Park, WW Co.

Nashville Warbler...........1 bird

Lyon's Ferry Park, Franklin Co.

Ferruginous Hawk..........2 birds
Fox Sparrow....................1 bird
Hermit Thrush..................2 birds
Orange-crowned Warbler..7 birds
Nashville Warbler...............1 bird
Osprey..................................1 bird
Golden Eagle.......................2 birds
Common Goldeneye...........3 birds, getting late for area.

Townsend's Warbler.............1 male
Golden-crowned Kinglet.....1 male
Hammond's Flycatcher...........1 bird
Ferruginous Hawk................1 ad.

Nunamaker Rd, Franklin Co.

Grasshopper Sparrows.........3 birds, FOY

Washtucna, Adams Co.

Coopers Hawk.....................1 ad. male
Wild Turkey..........................2 birds
Western Tanager...................1 female
Eurasian Collard Dove.........2 birds
Sharp-shinned Hawk.............1 bird

This morning( 7 May) we were joined by Bob Flores at Washtucna and saw the
following highlights..............

Western Tanager.............3 birds
Chipping Sparrow...........1 bird
Wilson's Warbler..............1 bird
Eurasian Collard Dove....2 birds
Hammonds Flycatcher.....1 bird
Dusky Flycatcher.............1 bird

Kahlotus, Franklin Co.

Golden-crowned Sparrow.....1 ad.
Nashville Warbler..................1 bird
White-crowned Sparrow........75+ feeding on aphids in ornamental plum trees
along main street of Kahlotus. Bob departed for home and we continued on to
Wind Dust Park.

Lower Monumental Dam, Snake River

Am. White Pelican...........6 birds
Bonaparte's Gull...............1 ad.
Bufflehead........................1 pair

Wind Dust Park, Franklin Co.

Lark Sparrow.....................3 ad., FOY
Wilson's Warbler...............2 males
Cassin's Vireo....................1 bird
Townsend's Warbler...........2 males
Nashville Warblers............3 birds
Warbling Vireo...................1 bird
Barn Owl..............................1 bird

Overall it was a cool, very windy trip. We did enjoy the birds and it was
good to bird with Bob.
