Hello All:
Here's a bit of an update on migration in Pierce County. I birded on the
Foothills Trail near South Prairie twice this week, first on 1 May and then
today, 7 May. Observed 76 species on the first trip, and 78 today, for a
combined total of 90 species. Most surprising on the 1st was the adult
Tundra Swan resting in the "REI" pond along the trail. It was still there
today; I haven't seen the bird fly and it may be injured. Today produced
several other highlights which are listed below.
