Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday May 10. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 5 a TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen among a migrant flock of
Orange-crowned Warblers on Coxcomb Hill in Astoria. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE
was seen May north of Redmond. The BLUE JAY at Brookings continues to be
seen. On May 5 a BALTIMORE ORIOLE briefly visited a feeder in Milwaukie.

EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were reported during the week from Seaside and near
Paulina. Two are now being seen along Oak Island Road on Sauvie Island.

Heavy migrations continued during the week with shorebirds, WESTERN TANAGERS
and BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS conspicuous. PINE SISKINS and EVENING GROSBEAKS
are now arriving in the Willamette Valley and in Central Oregon.

On May 5 a MOCKINGBIRD and a SCRUB-JAY were along the nature trail at the
Marine Science Center on Yaquina Bay. The MOCKINGBIRD continues to be seen.
On May 10, 225 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS passed northward off Boiler Bay. On May 5
a SAGE THRASHER was in Seaside.

A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was at the Sandy River Delta near Troutdale May 6. On
May 7 a bright male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was photographed at a northeast
Portland feeder. Two WHITE PELICANS are now being seen at the Fernhill
Wetlands in Forest Grove. On May 6 a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was at
Willamette Mission State Park near Salem. A MOCKINGBIRD is now being seen at
the Baskett Butte parking lot at Baskett Slough NWR. On May 5 a LONG-BILLED
CURLEW was at Ankeny NWR.

On May 7 a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was at Sawyer Park in Bend. A ROSS?S GOOSE
was seen May 9 at Hatfield Lake.
