Subject: [Tweeters] Probable Goshawk in Lacey

Yesterday evening around 7:00, while I was giving the obligatory grandparent's support to a little girls' softball game at Timberline High School in Lacey, I saw what must have been a Goshawk. It flew eastward over a field and disappeared in a wooded patch northeast of the school. I didn't have my binoculars, and it was flying at least 50 yards away, presenting a silhouette at a bad angle, but the repeated flap-flap-sail pattern, the apparently long, slim tail, and the size of a crow or larger seem to rule out anything else. Birders in the general area might want to go exploring.
