I was just working along at my computer desk when a Bewick's wren paused
outside the open window, threw back his head, and bellowed his mighty song,
before giving me a contemptuous glance, a flick of the tail, and flying off
to his nest. And I thought, "I really like wrens. They're probably my
favorite group of birds."

Which led me to wonder if anyone else has a similar difficult-to-justify
liking for a particular bird, or taxonomic group of birds. (I also find
puffbirds completely adorable, but alas, they're neotropical residents.)
Anyone willing to admit it?
